I don’t know about 9/11, but Terence shows somethign big happened around May of 1996. Looking at wikipedia’s events of 1996, nothing major happened in May, but in August of 1996, Bin Laden declared Jihad on America calling for the US out of Saudia Arabia. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 were likely first conceived at this time.
May 96 was a novel day, anything good happen? New technology maybe?

Looking at this graph, modern history has been relatively idle. According to this, we’ve barely hovered over a flatline since the dark ages. It’s my understanding that the last 100 years should practically equal the entire rest of history. Not much of a theory if you ask me.
