The human body is so amazing. It makes me realize how fragile and precious we all are, see that persons little heart beat away. It’s really cool how surgeons are able to do these types of things to save peoples lives.

I don’t think being an astrophysicist is much harder, I think it’s actually much much easier. Most astrophysicists don’t stand there on their feet all day, sweating with someone’s life in their hands and have to go out and face their family if they fail. Yeah, someone could die as a result of something you do, but it wouldn’t just be you, there would have been a whole chain of actions and other people sharing culpability before it gets to the stage where someone could die.

i dun agree with you in many level. It is hard to explain everything in 500 characters. I will just say death is a natural process yes it can act negatively on your psychology but that does not make it hard. Then according to you killing someone is hard as well and the executioners should be the highest paid. The stuff you mentioned are not attributes of difficulty. They sound more like someone’s weakness. Compare it with a soldier’s job and they are nothing and yet they are very ill paid. Why?

Ah, very interesting. Judging by how the blood was coming out of the tube, he was most likely replacing a vein (vascular surgery).

Why is there such little blood loss? The stent was spewing blood but there was not much blood loss in terms of volume even though there was a decent sized hole.

  22. AdVikesAd / November 11, 2009 9:29 pm

I don’t understand why people find this stuff so gross. It’s what’s in your body, if anything more people should see this stuff.

  23. bheart63 / November 11, 2009 10:57 pm

It is not a stent it is a shunt. The blood runs through the shunt to where it has to go while the graft is done. Look closely at the end of the grafting the shunt is removed just before the suture it tightened. It happens very quickly and most people miss it thinking that the shunt is left in the artery
