U should have took out the take along magnets and putted Bachmann Couplings
beatletrainfan129 / September 20, 2009 9:36 pm
You should have used the Ertl Diesel in stead because it would look like it was that real model

I did this wheel conversion on a Take Along for this reason..
You can’t purchase ERTL’s in the shops, I am trying to show a conversion on something everyone can relate to and purchase easily, I hope this explains my reasons here.

Thanks, I would have had trouble saying that name..not sure how much ASS to put into the word.

I am wondering if you would like to see a Tomy Thomas conversion, maybe a powered fix..or even the way I would power a Take Along..

Hi Leo,
Just done my own conversion of one of the Thomas die-casts recently, wondering if you’ve seen it? Follows the same method as your ones, except it’s fully motorised.

A little helping information: The narrow gauge engine is called ‘Rheneas’…
sonicxthomasexpert / October 17, 2009 7:49 am
Even so he can give him a different name if he wants to because that’s what he did with most of the characters.
Percy – Noel
James – Ted
Wilbert – John
Ben – Chris
Duck – Earl
Duck – Alan
Edward – Bob
Sixteen – Wilson
Harold – Helen
The Diesel – Andy
Diesel – Mute
SONBoomer / October 17, 2009 6:39 pm
Oh, I know that.
CineSteam / November 2, 2009 9:03 am
Yes Leo, absolutley.
The TV series is shallow and dosen’t have the richness that the Railway Series had.
Did you know that Thomas started life as a wooden toy? (AND it was green?)
CineSteam / November 2, 2009 9:13 am
Brilliant as ever, Leo!
And for the pronunciation of Rheneas…

5 stars 4 u.
Also it would be pretty sweet if you could make a motorized conversion of those types of Thomas trains. Be a bit of a frustrating job I guess.
donaldengine9 / November 7, 2009 6:55 pm
It’s pronounced Ra-Nay-us
princehillanbrand9 / November 14, 2009 8:38 pm
Rheneas is awesome. They made a metallic ERTL version of his model, and I own it.
