My question is do I have to pay off all my credit card balances to get them deleted? My costco Amex just got closed but my bal. is still 2K. They just reported me for closed acct. to TRW

sup juan just to ask ,how bad do missed payments affect you’r credit? and do collection agentcies realy report a debt when it is cleared?

No one can determine exactly how much it will affect your scores. You must understand there is scientists behind the credit scoring module. I have seen decreases from 20 to 150 points from late payments. As far as collections, once you have paid the account they most likely will not report to the credit bureaus because it is an overhead expense to furnish data.
