Dave Ramsey – Credit Card/Debt Collectors are SCUM

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Monday 16 November 2009 9:39 pm

My hero, Dave Ramsey, tells of abusive practices and the violation of Federal law incorporated by debt collectors – particularly credit card debt collectors. Most people do not know that they have rights guaranteed to them by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and debt collectors knowingly and habitually break these laws in order to frighten them into paying. IT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW TO OWE MONEY! Do not allow yourself to be lied to (example: “You’re going to go to jail if you …

Are you daft? Not all collectors are from third party companies. A lot of them, and the ones I worked with, are from the primary company that the individual borrowed the money from.

You have yet to show a reasonable argument to your claim that collectors are scum. Because based on yours, and everyone elses arguments, the same things can be said about those that incur the debts and dont pay them back.

there is a difference between collecting nicely and threatening someone. that’s what you call “Harrassment”
Cretin collectors should learn that 90% of people are willing to pay debt .

And people that dont pay back their debts are worthless and deserve to be in prison…so whats your point?

You have already said that. If you can’t defend your opinion than repeating an opinion that you borrowed from someone else is your only out? nice, but pathetic =/

I love how people don’t take responsibility for their debt. What also gets me is the how ignorant people are when it comes to credit cards. Credit card companies are just like every other company. They are in the business to make money and competition. Welcome to capitalism. You can expect them to raise your interest rate when you don’t make your payments on time. You play with fire, you’re gonna get burned.

It’s quite a shame to see professional people taking advantage of simple individuals regarding finances especially credit cards. Harrassing even their loved ones.
To simply put it.: IF YOU CAN’T PAY, simply “DON’T .”

I remember going to a job fair several years ago. As soon as I found out is was for a collection agency I walked. Why? I am not scum like most of the people they hired. Debt collectors are the lowest of the low.

    Dave Ramsey is a tool
Encourage your clients to pay their bills and live up to their own personal responsibility.

Twice I had the misfortune to get a new phone number as a land line that once belonged to a person with bad debt.

Debt collectors called me repeatedly, asking for the previous person connected with the land line, despite the fact that I insisted on more than 15 occasions, that I was not the person they were attempting to collect debt from.

I’m sure they harass innocent people like me all the time; accusing us of being someone else, despite our protestations.

Bank & insurance executives are thieves. They’re vultures, bottom feeders who profit from the heartache of the millions of innocent hard-working families they managed to wipe out just to feed their lust. These execs are crap-piles. It’s time they stop their whoreslutting & find some humility. They need to have their ill-gotten assets seized & liquidated & spend some time in the sewers. They’re corrupt, disgusting, loathsome, incompetent dummies that use the US Constitution for toilet paper.

When we think of Credit card companies we think of these huge monolithic faceless companies that stomp on the little guy. But, if a relative or friend owes you money, dont you want that person to pay it back? Maybe you’d even take them to court if it was a significant amount?Yes, collectors are reckless and that industry needs a major overhauling BUT there is something called personal responsibility…

Pay your bills if you can. Try to make more income. Take a part-time job in addition to your regular employment.

  17. Comment by Seccsi — October 31, 2009 @ 9:01 am

Then don’t borrow their money and you wont have to deal with them. It is a REALLY simple concept

  18. Comment by Seccsi — October 31, 2009 @ 9:03 am

Never said that, and not all collectors do that.

“But enough do it to group them all together!” -if you believe that statement then you are what we call the ‘deaf that follow the blind’.

Good for you…want a hero cookie?

  20. Comment by wkruk1979 — October 31, 2009 @ 1:51 pm

another simple concept is that credit card companies cannot change the rules when they feel like it stick to the original contract, they dont

  21. Comment by Seccsi — October 31, 2009 @ 10:36 pm

Actaully, until new legislation comes into effect they CAN change the contract if they want to. If you don’t like it then you CAN close the card. Quit trying to blame other people/companies for your own self made problems.

Dave Ramsey is the most over rated jerk on TV and radio. His sh**t smells with his self righteous attitude. Screw you Dave and your stories of how rich and great you are and how you are smarter than everyone else. Maybe you are, but your’e still a jerk.

  24. Comment by Seccsi — November 2, 2009 @ 3:14 am

rofl…and whatever decency you had or respect you had is now gone. You get them! Have fun with a bankruptcy on your record for 10 years. You sure outsmarted them! So you borrow THEIR money, with no intention of paying it back, and are proud of it? You have just proven every single point I have made on this thread, I really appreciate it.

oh yeah, you can still close the card btw. That legislation isn’t law until next year, and is optional until then.
