YOU ARE A FOOL!!! Of coarse the parents should know who their friends are DID I say They shouldn’t ? NO.., PARENTS SHOULD NOT GO TO JAIL FOR THEIR KIDS ACTIONS! THE KIDS SHOULD PAY THE PRICE HOW ELSE WILL THEY LEARN? You want to teach them that they can do the crime and their parents can do the time???

  3. seks03 / November 11, 2009 2:34 am

how does one case = a trend?

  4. gillybymarriage / November 11, 2009 2:36 am

Anyone that tortures someone else should be either in jail for life or killed.
    Period.

  5. christo930 / November 11, 2009 3:02 am

Yeah, because keeping them in jail for the next 60 years or so is going to unrape or unkill the victim.
We don’t even allow children to drive around with each other in many states because we understand that teenagers are baby-looking adults. Didn’t you make mistakes as a kid?
There are kids (15yo) in prison for life for simply being present at a murder. We need to evaluate each case, but kids deserve a 2nd chance. They shouldn’t be able to get away scott-free but deserve a 2nd chance.

  6. christo930 / November 11, 2009 3:03 am

That should say that they aren’t baby-looking adults.

  7. EffieReal / November 11, 2009 3:12 am

Raping and killing isn’t a mistake , it’s an “on-purpose”. Whatever I did “on-purpose” as a teen I was indeed responsible for. If I took a whole bottle of pills as a teen would I get only a 10-15 year OD or a permanent OD? I’m sorry, but SOME choices DO have permanent consequences. BTW “Simply being present”…does that include simply intending to rob someone and the other dude holding the gun slips and murders and the co-robber is charged as well? Because that’s not “simply being present”.

Somehow I think you would see it differently if it was your child. It is absolutely insane to lock a child up for life, period. Children make mistakes and I don’t think serving 20 years is getting off lightly. Because they are so young, a life sentence is WORSE for them. Unfortunately, our police-state government agrees with you and nothing ether one of us thinks is going to change it. The US is even a signing member of an international agreement keeping kids from being killed or jailed 4 life.

  9. EffieReal / November 11, 2009 5:26 am

I’m starting to think you might have that mental disorder that some keep saying leftists have. Why are you arguing the reality of homicidal violent criminals with some emotional drivel about “it’s different if it’s your child”? I am a mother and I am sickened by moms whining on the news about their “babies” after their babies torture and murder their victims. It’s morally reprehensible to trivialize the crimes committed against the victims because the perp is a teen. Some crimes are too vile.

  10. christo930 / November 11, 2009 5:48 am

But we aren’t talking about these crimes and don’t insult me. I specifically mentioned felony murder, which doesn’t even have to be violent and you went off about rape and now you are throwing in torture, constantly moving the goalpost. I am a conservative and I don’t think this disgusting social conservative, idiotic moral-majority type BS has anything to do with being a conservative. Take your stupid self back to crazy jesusville..

  11. EffieReal / November 11, 2009 5:51 am

Actually the comment before mine in this thread by Jokersfreak mentions the 13 year old rape thing and that’s why I referred to it. I don’t move goalposts. Nice attempt at doing that yourself. You are not a conservative. Good luck convincing anyone that you are.

Do not leave out smoking related deaths. You never hear about those because the IRS profits from tobacco tax.

  13. llothar68 / November 11, 2009 9:50 am

Unless he/she works for the government overseas. Correct?

  14. elpilotoazul / November 11, 2009 12:55 pm

Somehow I think you would see it differently if it were your child who was the victim of the crime. How would you feel if one of these baby looking offenders moved next door to you? If they truly change while in prison, parole boards do make reviews. Your argument is weak in my opinion, but you are entitled to believe that way.

  15. SpringfieldCSA / November 11, 2009 4:30 pm

I think they should be sent to a reform School for a number of years, then hard military service.

  16. SpringfieldCSA / November 11, 2009 4:33 pm

Also you know the health care bill will finish this Country.

  17. christo930 / November 11, 2009 4:43 pm

I probably would feel that way, I’d probably try to kill the kid. These kids are getting life in prison without parole, as a matter of fact, many states now see life in prison as life in prison no parole (including my home state). I can’t stand teens, but they are what they are. I know of cases where a kid waiting in a car gets felony murder charges, or someone will kill someone and a teen who wasn’t involved helps their friend dispose or whatever and end up with life. It’s just wrong.

  18. 1mediaseeker / November 11, 2009 6:41 pm

Loan modification officers tortured? That’s terrible, but seriously…I’m not surprised. Not that I’m an condoning it, because I’m not….however people are REALLY stressed out about losing their homes. It was just a matter of time, before some unstable person goes off.

  19. gillybymarriage / November 11, 2009 9:37 pm

    No, that is NOT correct.
ANYONE who has the kind of mind and soul who would torture a human being (or animal for that matter) shouldn’t be allowed ito exist in society.
    OR in goverment, FGS.
There is no justification, in my mind, anyway.

U.K. News- A british teenager who raped a young boy was given a 3 year community order. 8 days later he raped a 5 year old boy and given a 3 year prison sentance.

The first victim’s family pleaded for the community order becayuse they are Christian and forgave the teenager. It was too lenient in my opinion. The teenager wasn’t placed on the sex offender;’s list until the second offence.

The report can be found on the U.K.’s DailyMail website.

  22. Halo2100 / November 12, 2009 8:23 pm

I didn’t say they should get off scott free. I do put responsibility on the parents for not being involved with their kid. Most kids who comment crimes are from broken homes to begin with. So the parents have failed from the start and the child doesn’t know any better cause chaos is their environment. “It’s all about the influences, their friends etc.” That’s what you posted and made that out to be a reason why. So if parent(s) lets them hang out a bad kid then that is on the parent.

  23. 100sapphireblue / November 14, 2009 5:56 pm

I think it has become (and maybe always was) difficult to get social services. The people who I see getting it are either those who are smart (and drive nice cars), or those who have good case managers.

There are people who clearly need social services, but those who end up getting it are those who know how to manipulate the system.

And then there are those who have kids irresponsibly and they get social services for 18 years, and not because they are such good parents, either…

  24. bigkahuna132 / November 16, 2009 3:07 am

When the system falls-it is going to go fast and without warning for the masses. I have known there was a problem for a few years-but when I went to my state’s republican convention in 08-I found the depth of the deception in our political system. The extent of the bs politically and the hard landing we are going to experience will be astonishing even for us who expect it. We will need to stick together or the powers that be will use our divisions to turn us on each other. It is that simple.

I read that loan officer deal on abc news. I’m a local college drop out clerk. I was smart enough to know not to take out a loan for a $500,000 home that was worth only $60,000.
