Thank-you so very much for making this incredible video. This is perfect to send to our friends from away, when they want to see where we are from.

Excellent video! It brought a tear to my eye just reminiscing about home. I’m living in Scotland right now- my first time living anywhere else but Cape Breton, and my goodness it’s not easy! You can take the girl out of Cape Breton but you can’t take the Cape Breton out of the girl!!

    It’s beautiful.
Half of my family is up in Cape Breton,
and I’m moving to Gardiner Mines this Summer, can’t wait either.
    Great job. < 3
Makes me remember why I love it there, and why I miss Nova Scotia.

Aunt Dee what a wonderful job you and your brother Evan have done promoting our beautiful home, Cape Breton. It does my heart good to watch this video as you can take the girl from Cape Breton, but not Cape Breton from the girl. I till my dying day will always love Cape Breton Island and its fair land. Love and kisses from your Aunt E in Alberta

Ach! My heart pines for the island I had to leave to find work. Some day to return to Western Cape Breton, to my friends and to the wild beauty of that magickal place. Thank you for a much needed glimpse of home.

the only thing that describes this place is the feeling you get when you set foot on the heart shaped island and hear the music play, the ocean roar and find yourself at a childlike age again

I love the music and the pictures. It reminds me of how fortunate I am to be standing on this island. Is it one of the Rankin sisters singing in the second song? Cape Breton is certainly the home of MY heart. <3

Yes – it is Rankin Family singing the second song. It’s called “Leis An Lurgainn” in Gaelic. There is a re-mix version of it on their North Country CD. In English the song is called- Grey Dusk Of Eye (Portobello).
