Geez AuntDee..I’ve had this video VLoged for some time now..every time I watch it I have to walk outside and look across to the Highlands.(I live right on the shore)..and I think to myself..dispite everything else thats going on in my life..I can’t think of a better place then this to sort it all out..thanks again for sharing those photos with us..
I am definitely going to CB for Celtic Colours next year. I haven’t been there in far too long.
God i love Cape Breton
Thank-you so very much for making this incredible video. This is perfect to send to our friends from away, when they want to see where we are from.
Excellent video! It brought a tear to my eye just reminiscing about home. I’m living in Scotland right now- my first time living anywhere else but Cape Breton, and my goodness it’s not easy! You can take the girl out of Cape Breton but you can’t take the Cape Breton out of the girl!!
amen to that!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video. You did a GREAT job…the pics are wonderful too. From CB but live on the mainland now
so I’m not that far away but I still miss it like crazy!!
It’s beautiful.
Half of my family is up in Cape Breton,
and I’m moving to Gardiner Mines this Summer, can’t wait either.
Great job. < 3
Makes me remember why I love it there, and why I miss Nova Scotia.
Aunt Dee what a wonderful job you and your brother Evan have done promoting our beautiful home, Cape Breton. It does my heart good to watch this video as you can take the girl from Cape Breton, but not Cape Breton from the girl. I till my dying day will always love Cape Breton Island and its fair land. Love and kisses from your Aunt E in Alberta
It shows how much talent there is in C.B. in the film and video shonraw keep up the good work
You just did such a fabulous job! 5 stars. I hope some day to come see where my mother grew up!
OMG!! i love it!! but what were the songs that you used? especially the second where the woman is singing?
I miss that place sooooooo much!!!Sumer61, check out my song, back home!
Ach! My heart pines for the island I had to leave to find work. Some day to return to Western Cape Breton, to my friends and to the wild beauty of that magickal place. Thank you for a much needed glimpse of home.
great job! i went all through there..the best !! cape breton realy touched my soul.
Great pics of our beautiful Island…Love it!!!
the only thing that describes this place is the feeling you get when you set foot on the heart shaped island and hear the music play, the ocean roar and find yourself at a childlike age again
Great job.. Very good representation of Cape Breton Island.. It makes me so proud to be a Cape Bretoner… Thanks for your work to put out this video…..
Well done.
I love the music and the pictures. It reminds me of how fortunate I am to be standing on this island. Is it one of the Rankin sisters singing in the second song? Cape Breton is certainly the home of MY heart. <3
Yes – it is Rankin Family singing the second song. It’s called “Leis An Lurgainn” in Gaelic. There is a re-mix version of it on their North Country CD. In English the song is called- Grey Dusk Of Eye (Portobello).
i miss home
Thank you. You sure brought back a lot of memories. It’s been too long since I’ve been home.
absolutely beautiful Sandra …your children are very talented….superb job..
Very well done
