I saw this on TV when I was a kid in the mid 80s. I know it was definitely before DUCKTALES first came on in 1987. This was the first time I ever saw Scrooge McDuck(playing Ebenezer here).

It’s actually on a few DVDs. It’s on Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 2, Walt Disney Animation Collection Vol. 7, and Classic Cartoon Favorites Vol. 9: Classic Holiday Stories.

Actually, this came BEFORE “The Great Mouse Detective.” But you’re right, they DID use that exact same recording of Big Ben in that movie!
