on the bailout? How completely hopeless and foolish is this guy? I have a better chance of playing quarterback for the Bears than the government has of making money on a bunch of dead-beat, toxic loans they bought from insolvent banks. The reason these banks are INSOLVENT is because these loans are NO GOOD! So how the hell is the government (who couldnt even deliver a bottle of milk) gonna play landlord and make money on them?? utterly idiotic. Peter Schiff is one of the very few pundits …

The 700 Billion wasn’t even necessary to have a vote on. The Federal Reserve has already printed and loaned up to 8 trillion dollars beside the 700 billion. They did this through their auction window. The Bailout was not about the money. It was a power grab. That’s all it was.

Leeb is impassioned but totally insane, ‘the market needs more credit’… what?! His philosophy is keep pumping up the bubble, as fast and as big as possible in the hope something comes along to fix it. Accelerate at the cliff until your car sprouts hover gear? Is that a fair analogy to what he is saying?

It’s unfortunate that Stephen let himself get upset here. Schiff and Leeb differ in their views about the merits of bailouts and an increase in credit, but Leeb, in his printed works, agrees with Schiff that after the infusion of new money takes effect, we will experience very high inflation. Leeb also thinks commodity shortages will exacerbate that problem. Themen aren’t opposed on everything, just the one issue discussed here. Leeb could have made a better case if he’d been calmer.

The problem seems to be that Stephen Leeb does not, cannot, or will not comprehend that Peter Schiff is saying, that the government should never bail out Wall Street.
Leeb is stuck in his close-minded thinking that the government must bail out Wall Street.
Leeb thinks the end (good economy) justifies the means (bail outs for Wall Street).
Schiff knows bailing out Wall Street is immoral and even if you want to do so, there is no money.
Leeb = Keynsian=GWBush
Schiff = Chicago school=Thatcher
