Tracey Tiernan is an On-Air Personality for a Maryland Radio station “WRBS FM”. Last week, according to StudentScholarships.org, Tracey went to Chennai, India working with Compassion International. Compassion International is a company, which reaches out to the needy. As I listened to the radio broadcast during the week, I was compelled to gather a couple of my co-workers together to donate and adopt two children. Adopting two children will allow these children to receive special mentoring, vocation training and some cases housing as well as medical care.

In one instance, Tracey mentioned one of the children called her Auntie. Several other families discussed what their life was like before they were sponsored by Compassion International. A grandmother shared how she has two grandchildren in her care that she couldn’t afford to raise before Compassion International assisted them. The grandmother is now able receive assistance in their education, food for them to eat and they are receiving health screenings.

My ultimate dream job would be to make a difference in someone else’s life similar to what Tracey Tiernan and Compassion International achieved. When you know you are making a difference in someone’s life, there is something rewarding about serving others. As a Christian, we have an obligation to Jesus Christ to aid the needy.

There are so many opportunities to serve someone else in need. I wonder why we don’t take more opportunities to seeking out how to help. Sometimes I think we want to genuinely help others but don’t know how too. This dream job will not only reach out to those who are in need of assistance, but it will work toward mentoring people who have a desire to help others.

There are so many companies in the world that already help the needy, For instance, companies like FEMA, Red Cross, etc. The only thing I think maybe different from my dream job and the big conglomerate companies is their ability to reach smaller populations that are in need. Sometimes the quiet people get left out, the quiet people sit in the back, and the quiet people have their heads down waiting to be mentored themselves.

Once we get into developing leaders to assist in building the world project, we will also need to have another component in the dream job duties. There are so many people who have been abused, who have not pursued help. Some of these people don’t even know they need assistance. My dream job would also bring revelation to those who are hurting and don’t know why and don’t know how to get help.

My ultimate dream job would simply be to help some one else and coach them to assist someone else, so we can make this world a better place to live. Like a rock that has a ripple effect if thrown the right way in the lake. Sometimes if the rock isn’t thrown the right way, the rock doesn’t glide across the lake properly. My dream job would make sure every rock picked up, would be prepared to glide across the lake and cause a ripple effect in the world.
