Milkor Ltd is still a privately held South African company, internationally known for its 40mm Multiple Grenade Launchers. Over the last 28 years, Milkor has provided in excess of 50000 grenade launchers to law enforcement and army agencies in more than thirty nations around the planet from less-lethal to deadly weapons.

It is however the 40mm MGL (Multiple Grenade Launcher ) made the Milkor name famous. Though many have since tried to repeat the first design, "There is still no substitute for the original" as the firm’s slogan so justly puts it.

Presently in production is the second generation MGL Mark 1 (which enhanced the capabilities of the mythical Y2 ), as well as the 3rd generation MGL Mark 1S ( with 105mm chambers), and MGL Mark 1L ( with longer chambers which can accommodate an even wider range of ammo including payload rounds). The launcher can’t be accidentally discharged if dropped.

This weapon is a light, semi-automatic, low velocity, shoulder-fired 40 mm grenade launcher with a six-round capacity and a progressively-rifled barrel. It involves the well-proven revolver principle that will deliver 40mm rounds to an effective range of 375m at a fast firing rate of six rounds in 3 seconds. A selection of rounds such as HE, HEAT, HEDP, anti-riot baton, irritant or pyrotechnic may be used; the cylinder can be loaded or unloaded rapidly.

Milkor furnishes its MGLs with adjustable occluded eye gunsights ( OEG ) which has been designed to ascertain the range to establish the range to the target and can be straight away adjusted accordingly. It enables the user to extend the hit probability at ranges of almost 375 metres.

New needs lead to new innovations. The 40mm US-Mark 4 is a light-weight under-barrel Grenade Launcher with advance safety aspects which can be attached to any modern assault weapon. The 40mm US-Mark four can be employed on any of the existing mainline assault weapons such as the R4-Galil, M16, AK47, G3 and SG540 ( with minor adjustments ), therefore enabling the user with a 40mm Grenade Launch capacity together with a 7,62mm or 5,7mm. Recently ongoing developments and new light-weight materials led to the manufacturing of the 40mm US-Mark 4S, which weighs a phenomenal 735g! This new weapon houses a specialised Picatinny interface with external Picatinny mounting, superb for add-ons like laser lights or torches. Similarly it has a clip-on/clip-off mechanism for the Picatinny assembly, an in-built safety on the trigger and a mechanism that cocks the weapon mechanically when loading.

The new Stopper Mark two, and 37/38mm and 40mm Pistol Mark 2 shares logistics to the extent that the application required by the customer will identify which barrel should be fitted, from 37/38 or 40mm smoothbore to the 40mm grooved deadly barrel. Stopper Mark two uses the same parts as the Pistol-family. It also features a new butt-stock.

The Milkor solid state Sight idea ( no moving parts), with embedded gradients and reticule, covered with shock-resistant material. Recoil and strong handling of weaponry in a battlefield scenario can cause havoc with standard reflex and optical plant. Milkor developed a completely new sight which not only addresses these aspects but will also offer a separate scale on the same sight for the medium range grenade launchers ( up to 800m. This weapon is excellent for lightweight infantary fighting automobiles and security forces, fast attack Navy crafts and chopper application with the recoil system.

MILKOR furthermore developed a vehicle and fixed mounting systems to accommodate their fresh release range, particularly suited for mounting on any automobiles and structures. This new concept is perfect for warships and patrol craft alike. The built -in recoil buffer system enables low interference on weapon systems, and it is perfectly fitted for boat and copter mountings as discussed above.

Micheal Jackson died at 50 but why all the whimpering?

micheal jackson

Now I don’t mean to sound ill hearted , because I love the MJ  and I was a fan of his music from since the song ABC, but what I really don’t get is why is everyone so torn?

Death is a natural cause but it always seems that when a celebrity passes the whole world is mourning, now before you flip out I understand that since a whole lot of people know MJ you will have tons of people doing the same thing, so I get that but here is  the even confusing part , these same groups of people who are morning probably never thought twice about Micheal Jackson a week ago.The even more crazier part is that  some of these same people pouring their hearts out were are some of the individuals who poked fun MJ’s mistrials.

What we need to understand about celebrities is that they are products, thy are marketed and sold to us. They use our emotion to sell things and are really no different then a can of coke. Think of it a can a coke needs a commercial, needs to be advertised and so do celebrities.

How do you really feel inside knowing that your emotions are being used to make you purchase products, do you feel strong or weak?

I think is fine to buy into a product but there has to be a limit  to how much you get your emotions involved because  same celebrities have one goal in mind is to make you buy, its a job to them and they really only care about taking your money to line their pockets.

Some individuals get so caught up that when a celebrity passes the first thing that they  want to do is show their compassion ( which is an emotion) run out and purchase  a poster, CD anyhting to feel like they have connected and once again who is taking advantage of your emotions? The salesman ! Have you ever stopped to think why is whatever it is that you buying  triple the  cost it  when he was alive? Answer hungry businesses know that consumers will be buying based of their emotions and they can take advantage of it.

When you emotions run high you become delusional. When does someone get a free pass with such incriminating evidence placed against them. Now may there maybe nothing solid but if this were someone you knew in your area  Im sure that  it will only have taken a whisper for you to stay a way until proven innocent and I bet you still will have your doubts.

Now there are people who have truly bought into the product like went to the concerts , bought CD’s, and merchandise  and then there are the  pretenders who downloaded MJ music  and pretend that MJ was so important to them, you know play his music out loud as some sort of tribute and talk about him only for attention, well I hate to break it to you but  MJ hates  your guts and your his worst enemy , so while you love him he hates you because as true as it is that you can actually be a fan your just not a true fan that lines his pockets. You buy into the product but you really haven’t bought anything ugggghhhh and that doesnt help Mr. Jackson.

Business now how use your emotions. Look at the media people say they tore MJ apart when he was alive and now that he has passed they are producing tributes ( similar to  you inst it) what individuals  need to understand the media have no emotions  its their job  to get people to their channel at all times and well go with what the majority of networks are expressing for the mighty dollar. MJ knows millions of people dont hate him. If they did he wouldn’t be able to sell out areas, have countless number one albums and he sure wouldnt be the king of pop. So the important people who are true fans only matter.

R.I.P MJ.
